NineYin Sutra: Wuxia Releases First Character PV at ChinaJoy, to Appear at gamescom in August
Today, NineYin Sutra: Wuxia, an open‑world martial arts game developed by Snail Games using Unreal Engine 5, made its debut at Hall N1 of ChinaJoy 2026, accompanied by the release of its first character showcase PV.
At the end of the PV, the teaser “Coming soon 2026.8.26 gamescom” appeared, officially announcing that the game will be exhibited at gamescom in Cologne, Germany, this August, where more game content will be unveiled for the first time.
This year’s ChinaJoy marks the first offline public appearance of NineYin Sutra: Wuxia for players. At the Snail Games booth in Hall N1, the martial arts atmosphere was brought to life through posters and promotional videos. The first character PV was shown both at the Snail booth and simultaneously on the large LED screen in Hall E1, drawing large crowds of visitors. Among the attendees were veteran fans who have followed the NineYin series for years, as well as new martial arts enthusiasts discovering the IP for the first time. Many players engaged with the on‑site staff, eager to learn more about this new open‑world wuxia title.

The first character PV unveiled five characters from the world of NineYin Sutra: Wuxia. For players familiar with the earlier NineYin games, these characters evoke varying degrees of recognition. Each character’s appearance in the video is paired with an eight‑character motto that reflects their distinct personality and stance in the jianghu. This aligns with the development vision stated at the game’s initial reveal—to create a non‑linear, highly free open‑world game brimming with authentic jianghu flavour. These five characters may not all be “top‑tier” heroes, but each has a deep story within the martial world, whether overt or hidden. They each follow their own code of conduct and philosophy. In this new yet familiar jianghu, these five are only a fraction; every character walking this world has their own significance, and each is a unique piece of this free and open martial arts realm, collectively driving the living world forward and giving rise to endless new possibilities.
Within the vast cast of NineYin Sutra: Wuxia, where “people are the jianghu,” the encounter and interaction of seemingly insignificant characters can set off butterfly‑effect ripples throughout the dynamic world. This reflects the game’s thoughtful design philosophy: the jianghu does not belong only to great heroes—everyone living in it has their own story.

As an open‑world game that champions “true wuxia,” NineYin Sutra: Wuxia aims to build a jianghu that feels both familiar and brand‑new. “Familiar” comes from the wuxia heritage carried forward by the NineYin lineage; “brand‑new” arises from the freedom offered by its open world.
Built on non‑linear, high‑freedom open‑world exploration, the game combines diverse character development, a wide range of professions and identities, an upgraded “Virtual‑Real‑Parry” combat system, and thousands of unique NPC interactions. Players can seek out martial arts manuals, uncover unexpected encounters, pursue various trades, hone their skills, and ultimately achieve their own “Way of the Xia” in their own way.
What these designs ultimately deliver is not just a set of gameplay mechanics, but a jianghu in which players can truly “live” as martial artists—everyone can find their own place and experience their own unique wuxia life.

The jianghu rises again because of you—ChinaJoy is only the beginning. More news about NineYin Sutra: Wuxia will be revealed at gamescom in Cologne, Germany, this August. Stay tuned for further official updates.
